In a move similar, but not quite as severe as Black Thursday...

The was a day back on April 28th '06. There had been a long running feud across multiple tribes involving a date rapist who had hurt friends of mine, who was a parasite using the BDSM scene as a dating pool. This had been going on for a good 6+ months involving a lot of people, tribes shutting down, people migrating, online revolt, etc. At every turn (C)Rapture would spam tomes of drivel into all threads, claiming he was involved with the legal system, and every other boast a troll will make.

One of the managers of tribe told me to back off, that I was pushing things too far. He did this in a PM. I promptly told him that it could never go to far as long as this parasite was feeding on people I cared about and using their system as a tool for stalking people. I stoof my Aground and told him, in so many words, to politely go fuck him self.

So, on that day in April my original account I created back in '03 was deleted. All my blogs, my pictures, my friends (several of whom had passed away). All the tribes I moderated including on of the largest n tribe, we all left in limbo. I wasn't about to take this laying down.

So, I regrouped, calculated a form of attack, and created the "Shatter memorial" page and start talking about myself in third person. We even had a Wake/Funeral for me at Bondage a Go Go that following Wednesday.

After the memorial the page became "TRIBE CENSORED SHATTER" and added a bunch of people. Then the brilliant idea hit me: they couldn't delete me again if they didn't know which one was me. So, I asked everyone to, on the folowing Friday, to show a real protest and chnage their name to Shatter and put up my picture. Needless to say there were thousdands of them by that afternoon. The entire network was me. I had taken over and spread like a virus. All events, form me. All listings, moderating, threads, users, the entire tribe.net was all me. It was unusable, and unreadable.

That was the point. A form of protest that would shut down a site legally. In effect, a DOS attack, but one that is not illegal.

I asked everyone to stop by Sunday. The point was made.

After that I posted on one of the tribe official forums that we, the users of tribe, would only put up with so much for so long, before we would bringing the system down. I told them that any further stunts of deciding to delete a group of people with extreme prejudice regardless of who was the actual problem would be met with severe retaliation.

That would be of course, everyone change their name to Unsubscribed and use the blank face for main picture. Watch the advertising plummet. Watch the users base stop using the system. The entire network would look like there was nobody on it. That is the fatal flaw in the system, and with all social networking sites.
